Valentines Day

Today is Valentines Day. How did you celebrate it? Chocolate, Roses, or both?

The best Valentine we can give is telling someone about Jesus.

Chocolate melts, Roses die, but the love of Jesus, my friends, is forever.

Valentines Day is once a year but the love of Jesus is everyday.

Will you tell someone about the LOVE of Jesus today? His love leads to eternal life.

Happy Valentines Day

Family Blog

Well today I started working on a blog about our family and our daily which might turn into weekly adventures of our lives.

I am not sure if I will post every day to this new site and I am hoping Julie will take it over. She is so much better at the family stuff than I am like our schedules and etc.

I am hoping this will keep our families informed, enlightened and entertained.

Live every day like it is your last; tell someone about Jesus.

First Week Review

Hey everybody,

Today is day 5 of a challenge my Pastor gave us last Sunday at church (Pathway Fellowship Church) to read a chapter of the Book of John each day for 21 days. Why 21 days you ask? There are 21 chapters which equals 21 days. Check out our church website by clicking on the link.

I really love reading and what better to read than God’s Word. This challenge is opening my eyes to new insights  as I  read each chapter and just marinate in God’s Word and praying over His Word. Are you reading God’s Word; if not I pray you start. Everything we face is covered in the Bible.

Look at some of the verses in the book of John and marinate with me:

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
John 1:1 (ESV)

Wow now reference that with Genesis 1:1

Jesus answered them, “Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.”

John 2:19 (ESV)

Jesus was talking about His body; not a building. Remember He was crucified and on the third day; He was resurrected.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.

John 3:16 (ESV)

This is one of most well known verses; most people can say this verse by heart. This is the gospel message.

28 So the woman left her water jar and went away into town and said to the people, 29 “Come, see a man who told me all that I ever did. Can this be the Christ?”

John 4:28-29 (ESV)

Wow this is an incredible picture. A Samaritan women asked by Jesus to get Him some water as Jesus is a Jew. This was unheard of; they despised each other; Samaritans and Jews. This is how Jesus works though. He offered her eternal life and she accepted it and left her water jars and went and told everybody she could. You see what we think is important doesn’t really matter if we don’t know Jesus. She came for water to cook with, to drink and to wash clothes and she got so much more that the water jars wasn’t important any more, she left them in a flash and went and evangelized.  That is our Jesus.

Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life.
John 5:24 (ESV)

Have you heard God’s Word? Do you believe what it says? If you answered yes to these then you are a child of God and I am rejoicing with you.

If you aren’t in church or you are not reading the Bible I pray you start today. Find a local church and plug-in to God and watch how He will change your life for ever.

So when this challenge is over I will still read a chapter a day from another book of God’s Word. We need daily intake of His Word just like we need daily intake of food.

Thanks to Pastor Rich for keeping God’s Word front and center in our lives. 2012 is going to be exciting.

Miracles Upon Miracles

Have you ever thought about the miracles that are listed in the Bible? There are a lot and each one is so interesting.

For example; when Jesus turned the water into wine in John Chapter 2; He didn’t touch the jugs or water; He spoke and the water turned into wine.

The wine wasn’t cheap wine; it wasn’t mediocre. It was the best. Read it for your self.

7 Jesus said to the servants, “Fill the jars with water.” And they filled them up to the brim. 8 And he said to them, “Now draw some out and take it to the master of the feast.” So they took it. 9 When the master of the feast tasted the water now become wine, and did not know where it came from (though the servants who had drawn the water knew), the master of the feast called the bridegroom 10 and said to him, “Everyone serves the good wine first, and when people have drunk freely, then the poor wine. But you have kept the good wine until now.”
John 2:7-10 (ESV)

Jesus doesn’t do things mediocre; He doesn’t do things hap hazardly. Jesus does things (miracles) completely; 100%; with purpose.

The Bible only lists the miracles that God wanted us to know about. There were a whole lot more. Don’t take my word for it; read what God’s Word says about the other miracles. I have the verse listed below for you.

Now there are also many other things that Jesus did. Were every one of them to be written, I suppose that the world itself could not contain the books that would be written.  John 21:25 (ESV)

See what I am talking about? The world could not hold all the books of Jesus miracles; wow.

Jesus is still doing miracles every day; people are saved, healed, fed, clothed and etc.

Don’t give up hope; because Jesus is working.

Giving Daily

Why don’t we? Why won’t we? We should; we could. We will because we love Jesus.

Let’s give this year. What can we give?

Our Time: We give our time to our families, our jobs, our children. What is stopping us from giving our time to God?

Give Him time in His Word; time in prayer with Him.

Our Service: We give our service to organizations; to our child’s sports teams. What is stopping us from giving our service to God?

Give Him service by helping at church whether it is greeting; serving in the nursery; serving in hospitality and etc. Serve Him.

Our Tithes: We give our money to our families; to stores; to movie theaters; to our hobbies and etc. What is stopping us from giving our money to God?

Give Him a tenth of what we earn. It is His anyways. He can multiply what we give so it can be used to further His Kingdom.

This world is full of takers; let’s go against the grain and be givers.

A taste of Christ’s extravagant love

How can any of us who have tasted the extravagant love of Christ be stingy with our resources? Doesn’t His compassion toward us make us naturally disposed to help those in need? If we see someone who has a need that we can meet, how can our heart not want to help them? Won’t we love the fatherless, and the widow, and the shut-in, and the homeless, since we know that we once were fatherless, estranged from the Father, disabled, and headed for eternal separation from God?

Poem From Story: Recapture the Mystery

I am currently reading this book called Story: Recapture the Mystery. It is a book well written and a book hard to describe. The author has some incredible poems in this book and I want to share one with you that is found on page 88.

I have included the link to this book at if you want to check it out? Story: Recapture the Mystery: Steven James: Books.

child of heaven,

son of earth.

fragrance of light,

strength of eternity.

former of worlds,

shaper of souls.

storm of glory,

love of God.

tamer of tempests,

raiser of the dead.

offender of the religious,

befriender of the outcast.

lion of conquest,

lamb of sacrifice.

hero of the ages,

talebearer of eternity.

king of all kings,

servant of all servants.

calmer of consciences,

disturber of the peace.

This is Jesus; do you know Him? This book has enlightened me as well as humbled me.
